You will need to know how to operate a PC or a cash register in order to find employment. You can usually get some training at your local community center, or high school. Employers expect you to be able to have good math skills and reading skills in order to handle the job functions. When you are in high school, it is a good thing to concentrate on those important skills.

You will be ready to find a job when you have good reading and math skills along with some PC training. The high school you attend will usually give you courses in those areas. General math is always best course to take if you do not plan on going to college. Most colleges have a Computer Lab, which is very beneficial in helping you to find a job. Most jobs are computer related in some manner so you do need to know how to use a keyboard and some software programs.
